The way we work is I take what you already know and help you do it better and even if you don't know much theory you will be surprised what can be done with the correct touch, feel and phrasing (and equally importantly how to get a decent guitar sound). I can cover most styles of guitar including Folk n Blues finger style and High Grade Slide Guitar; think Derek Trucks. Having lessons with Dave is one of the most formative parts of my learning to play the guitar. His lessons and approach to the instrument gave me a sense of being able to engage and express something with the guitar, even from the very beginning. His attitude and love of music creates such an organic relationship with playing the guitar and really inspired me, and affirmed that playing music is an exciting, uplifting and participatory thing. I now work as a professional musician, and Dave’s teaching, humour and companionship were a really significant part of setting me on that journey.

I have now been having lessons with Dave for more than 10 yrs. Lessons would usually start with a cup of tea and a biscuit & listening to an interesting musical anecdote,of which Dave has many.
Although I came to guitar late in life Dave has always shown patience and made lessons interesting and unique.d Concentrating on the musicality and feel, backed up with music theory.

I cant thank you enough for all the support you have given me in playing the guitar. You are a brilliant teacher and I am honestly very lucky. All of this knowledge  you gave me has taken my playing to a new level, learning about scales, harmonising notes, bending notes and the blues has made the guitar even more exciting. Listening to your musical insight and passions has honestly been an absolute pleasure. I am very grateful for your generosity.
